Patriotic holidays bring out my wild side. There’s something about flags and fireworks and parades- not to mention men in uniform- that really gets me wet. A few years ago, on the Fourth of July, I had a very hot rendezvous with a younger man. We’d been dating all summer, and we went to the parade together. I still remember the taste of sour-sweet lemonade on his lips. Later, we took his little brothers to see the fireworks show at the park. After dark, with a million fireworks bursting in the air above us, he kissed me. I’ve never felt so alive. It was electric. I could feel each new explosion deep in my body as great flowers of fire illuminated the night.
